Friends are Flowers ~ Challenge #69 for Paper Playtime

Good morning, my faithful followers. I also want to welcome some new friends. I hope you enjoy it here and continue to come visit and support me. I am almost at 300....whoo hoo!!!! Well, it is Monday (BOO....weekend is over and the week is starting....) but that also means a new challenge at Paper Playtime. Today it is our "Delicious Die Cuts" team's turn....notice the change of name from Cricut Creations, so please feel free to use any die cut machine that you own.....and the theme is "Flowers (for the Girls)". Since flowers are so popular at the moment in crafting and it is not warm enough here yet for any to be around, I really enjoyed this challenge. This card actually turned out exactly how I had envisioned it in my head so that is always a bonus. It is a 5" x 7" card.

A New Monthly Tradition.....10 Months til Christmas!

Hello all and Happy Saturday.

So back around the holidays when I was stressing so badly about getting my cards finished (which, btw, were never sent this year at all!) I knew I needed a different system to get them done before the holidays and actually mailed. If you were lucky enough to see me in person, you MAY have received a card. My bff, Shari and I talked about making a card a month and posting on the 25th of each month so that by Christmas we would have cards to send. Here is our first post. It is going to be a mini blog hop.....only Shari & I this month but if you would like to join us on this journey, please e-mail me and let us know! The more the merrier!!!! Also, since I am more of a Cricut person and Shari is a Copics person, our plan is to make 2 cards a month each......one with our Copics and one with our Cricut......letting us both stretch our comfort zones. Onto my cards (I am going to admit something here.....this month kinda snuck up on me so both these cards were started but never finished......):

I have made a very quick little tag for you. It could be used as an embellishment on a scrapbook page or as part of a card or as a tag on a present. It is entirely made with punches which makes it easy to do. For the "U" I just used the word "Until" and masked off everything but the capital "U" when I stamped.

Paper Playtime (Cricut Creations) Challenge #67 ~ Hearts/LOVE

Good morning, my sunshines! Welcome to Monday :)

Today is a new challenge that runs for 2 weeks at Paper Playtime and it is the Cricut Creations team's turn. Of course, our challenge is seasonally related (yep, would be the V-day!) and it is to use hearts or the word "LOVE" on your projects. And our sponsor for this challenge is none other than ME ~ I am sponsoring with a "Valentine Surprise Package" ~ no picture or then it would not be a surprise.

When I looked this up, I was surprised at how many cartridges had these two items on ~ almost all contained at least one. I must admit, Valentine's Day to me seems like such a "Hallmark" holiday that I find it hard to get into. So what I came up with is very nontraditional ~ red, pink and white were becoming overused ~ check out what I did:

PINK is an Attitude

Happy Sunday evening my friends. I am sure a lot of you are watching the Superbowl as I type and I hope you are enjoying it. We don't do football in our house so I am spending the evening in my pink castle crafting away. I was able to spend some quality time with my best friend Shari this weekend crafting in her pink palace and had a blast. (Notice a theme here in our craft rooms.....and the card to follow).

I am not exactly sure what to call the style of this card but it is a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card with the front cut from edge to edge and this is where the image is attached. Just thought I would give something different a try.

52 Tags of 2012 Series ~ Tag #4

Hello all and happy Wednesday. It's that day of the week again where I post another tag in the series. If you want to check out the details or play along visit my friend Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy.

WEEK #4 ~ Create a tag with your favourite colour. Write on the back why it is your favourite colour or how it makes you feel or what memories this colour brings to mind.

This doesn't give my fave away at all does it? Hee hee!!!! Anyone who is even remotely acquainted with me probably knew the answer to the question. "Pink" is cut from Pink Journey cartridge at 1 3/4" along with the shadow cut. All pink goodies were from my inventory. Pink is my "go to" colour and helps my creativity flow. In my other apartment my craft room was even painted pink.

Four tags down, forty-eight to go but I am proud of myself for keeping up so far.

Good Morning!!!! Today is the fifth Monday of January and that means a bonus at Paper Playtime. For our challenge that lasts ONE week only our theme is "ANYTHING GOES" as long as it is a new project. 52 Tags of 2012 Series ~ Tag #3

Hello everyone! This is my weekly Wednesday post showcasing the tag I have made for my friend Janis' "52 Tags of 2012" series. To see all of the details please visit her blog at Pause Dream Enjoy and come play along.

Week #3 ~ Create a tag with a warm and cozy theme. Write what you think of when you hear the words "Warm and Cozy".

Just as a reminder, my tags are cut from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge Heart1 oblong and oblong shadow at 4 1/2" with Recollections card stock and other paper is from my scrap pile. To me when I hear warm and cozy I think of a fireplace, a blanket and a warm cup of hot cocoa on a cold Winter's night so that is what I depicted on the front and back of this tag. The small hand knitted blanket was done with a scrap of yarn I had as well. The mug is cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge at 3" embellished with my I-rock tool.

I am having a blast planning these tags with the themes and encourage you to play along with us. And there are prizes as well so be sure to visit Pause Dream Enjoy for the details and other examples.

Inspiration????

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I spent some time with family this weekend and that always makes me happy. I showed my Mom how to use the baby bug Cricut that I gave her when I got my Expression and am hoping to see big things from her in her scrapbooking soon. But what I did not do this weekend is spend any actual time card making or scrapbooking. I spent a few hours in my scrap room trying to create and ended up with a big fat mess that I threw in the garbage quite honestly. I posted this question on my Facebook page as well recently and did not receive any answers so I thought I would pose it here since I have nothing new that I have created to show you. The exact quote from Thursday:

"Worked on some cards tonight for future design team posts but all my cards are starting to look the same. Any suggestions how I can change them up a bit?"

So, where do you turn to for inspiration? I need some help desperately in this area.

I just want to finish this post by saying that I do appreciate each and every one of you who visit me on a regular basis and leave me comments. That inspires me for sure!

Good Friday morning! Welcome to another day of JustWordz design team creations. Please go over to Kim's blog and check out what she and the other amazing design team members have come up with this week.

Here is my card:

This card uses one of Sheryl of Redonkulous Designs digi stamps called "Babies" coloured with my Copics. I cut it out with my large ovals Nestabilities and layered it onto a lacy oval Nestabilities. Sentiment "Just be Happy!" is from the Christmas Season set by JustWordz. Thank you to Kim for coming up with some great sayings that this set can be used for that have nothing to do with Christmas and make it an extremely versatile set. Paper, ribbon, flowers and pearls were from my "use it up" stash....still doing well.....haven't bought much for a while now....

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have some wonderful plans for the weekend but I especially want to mention to hug your family and keep them close. I have to go to a funeral Sunday and it makes me think of how special life is and how we need to treasure every moment we have been given. Good Morning, my friends. Glad you could come by today. My friend and fellow crafter, Janis from Pause Dream Enjoy is starting a new fun series for 2012.

GUIDELINES:

*New Question or Tag theme posted every Friday.
*Submit your Tag at any time during the year for any week.
*You do NOT have to reveal what you write on the back, but you can if you want to share.
*Please link back to Pause Dream Enjoy (http://pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com/) on your post inviting others to play along.

There is also candy up for grabs monthly. One random tag each week will be entered into a draw. January's prize is a set of CARDZ TV Stamps "Make a Wish".

On to my tags (playing "catch up" already, posting two weeks at a time):

WEEK #1

For the first week make a tag, decorate the front any way you want and on the back list your goals, dreams, hopes and resolutions for 2012.

For my tag I used Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge "Heart1" oblong and oblong shadow cut at 4 1/2". All of my tags will be this basic shape and will be cut from Recollections card stock. The tiara is from Birthday Cakes Cricut cartridge cut at 2 1/2". The word goals is from Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge Jumbo style font cut at 3/4". I have also decided that all the things I use to decorate the tags will be from my scraps so I will not be able to tell you where they are from exactly.....but I hope the pile shrinks some :). The back of the tag is also pink.

WEEK #2

For the second week, make a tag and decorate any way you want. On the back, write the title and author of the last book you read. If there is room, you can also write a brief description and why you did or did not like the book.

Tag is same as above. The book and heart are from Wedding Solutions Cricut cartridge cut at 3" and 3/4" respectively. "I" and "books" are from Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge Jumbo style font cut at 3/4". And I added a picture of the back of the tag so you can see what it looks like. If any one is interested the book I last read was "Starburst" by Robin Pilcher. It was a random choice at the library and I enjoyed it....a little slow to start but a good read of how the lives of 6 people intertwine during the Edinburgh Festival.

I posted these two tags on a Monday but I am hoping to make Wednesday my tag posting day since I have design team obligations both Monday and Friday. Guess that will leave Tuesday and Thursday for anything else I want to post....LOL!!!

Welcome back for another JustWordz design team Friday. Yep, this is my first post since last Friday. For some reason I haven't quite got back into the swing of things to spend any time in my craft room yet.....shame on me......hopefully I will get a little "playtime" this weekend.

As I am typing this post we have big white fluffy flakes of snow falling from the sky.....but not staying on the ground. It is still too warm and is supposed to turn into rain later. Sigh.....I just want me some snow. So I made my own snow today with my card:

This card is made with the "Christmas Season" JustWordz stamp set showing not all cards need to be Christmas using it. It is a 5" x 7" card. All paper is from Recollections including the glitter snowflake background. Image is from Your Next Stamp called "Winter Home" coloured with my Copics. I used Crystal Snow on the roof, the trees and small places around the snow mounds. The snowflakes were cut with my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge at various sizes and brads from my inventory were added to the center. Ribbon was in my scrap pile.

Welcome Back to JUSTWORDZ Design Team Friday

Hi everyone and happy Friday!!! Have you survived the first week of January so far? It has been a true mixture of weather here this week: the first cold alert of the season on Tuesday (with LOTS of snow where my son and daughter-in-law live but none where I do) all the way through to the rain and mild temperatures we have today. Truthfully, my old bones are kinda achy with all these extremes. But I am hanging in there.

Today is the first day back for our JustWordz design team so every Friday I will be using Kimberly's stamps on some kind of project. I do want to do a shout out to my friend and fellow design team member Tara who got married on New Year's Eve. Congrats and all the best! Ok, so I have already wished all of you a Happy New Year in my first post of 2012 but now I am making it official with this card:

This card is an 8" x 8" square folded to make it 8" x 4". The bottom corners have been rounded on both the card and the blue layer. Card stock for this card is all Bazzill or Recollections. Champagne glasses are cut from the Wedding solutions Cricut cartridge at 3 1/2". The year is the shadow of the font on the Winter Woodland cartridge cut at 2". Sentiment is from JustWordz "Christmas Season" stamp set. Ribbon and stickles from my inventory. The flower embellishment was made by my friend Tara who sent me a great little package as a pick me up a few months ago.

I am entering this card into the challenge at CARDZ TV Challenge #99 which was to make a New Year's card.

Paper Playtime Challenge #64 ~ Recycle!

Today is the first Monday of the month and that means a new Cricut Creations challenge over at Paper Playtime. Our theme for the next two weeks is to use something recycled on your project along with your Cricut. Our sponsor is my fellow design team member Maria from Joyful Stamper with a SEI 6 x 6 "Sunny Days" paper pad. Here is what I made:

My recycled item is the gift bag. It had been in my stash for a long time, I gave it to my Mom, who gave it back to me. I know I would have used it again even plain but this time I gave it a little pizazz and will make a matching card for a gift for a special girlfriend. All card stock for the gift bag was from Recollections. Bling, flowers and stickles were from my inventory. I used the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge to cut out the background shape at 5". The silhouette image and "Chic" are from Forever Young Cricut cartridge cut at 6" and 1". What a cute way to take a plain gift bag and make it sparkle.

The Scrapbooking Queen Digi Challenge #4

My card for today uses a digi from Meljen's Designs. This cute little guy would be perfect for many occasions but since tomorrow is my 8th anniversary I decided to use him for a card for my hubby. No bling, ribbons or bows adorn this masculine card.

All card stock is from my scrap pile, either Recollections or Bazzill. The turtle is coloured with my Copics on Copic paper. The sentiment stamp is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. Twine and brads complete the look from my inventory.

O Holy Night!

Well, it is 2 days before Christmas and I am sure that most of you are all ready. I am a bit behind but getting there. What needs to be done will be done and what doesn't wasn't important anyhow.....that's what I am going with this year. But in all of the hustle and bustle and long days at work I just wanted to show you a set of cards I made that are a reminder of the reason we have Christmas.

All of the card stock used was Bazzill. The patterned paper was Creative Memories. Stamps were from the "O Holy Night Nativity Set" and "Nativity Sentiments Set" both by Kraftin' Kimmie coloured with my Copic markers. Buttons and twine from my inventory.

As this will most likely be my last post before Christmas, I want to wish all of my friends and loyal followers a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. Enjoy the time! And remember that Jesus is the reason we celebrate.

I will be back December 26th with a new start to my design team challenges.

Candy Cane Kisses.....

and warm Winter wishes......okay....hokey....just thought I would try to rhyme. I can not believe that the holidays are approaching so fast. I need to finish about a "bazillion" things and I know I won't get them all done which is definitely causing me stress......breathe.....alrighty, on with today's card;

It was an extremely simple card to make. All card stock and patterned paper is from Recollections. Candy cane is cut from Christmas Cheer at 3 1/2" and the postage stamp cut is from Elegant Edges also at 31/2" oblong as well as the oblong shadow. The sentiment is from the Christmas Season set from Justwordz. Bling and ribbon from my inventory.

JUSTWORDZ DT Day ~ One Tag Down.....

Good Friday morning! Hope things are well with all of you at this busy time of year. Today is another DT day for JustWordz and it is the last official one before we take a short break for the holidays. I also got to use one of the images from the amazing collection that Sheryl has at Redonkulous Designs. And this is the tag that is the result:

This cute little girl was coloured with my Copic markers. Although the camera did not pick it up I added white flocking to her Santa hat, belt and boots. Tag is cut from Very Merry Tags at 4" out of Recollections card stock. The sentiment is on a topnote and shadow cut from Elegant Edges at 1 3/4". Sentiment wording is of course from Justwordz "Christmas Season" stamp set. All other supplies from my inventory :) I love the look of my tag is such non-traditional Christmas colours.

A Warm Cup of Cocoa on a Cold Winter's Day

I really enjoy a warm cup of cocoa on a cold Winter's day....too bad it is not today. The weather here is not your typical Winter weather....it isn't even cold....and it seems like all it does is rain.....and that just makes me depressed. So I am wishing for a little bit of snow (sorry for all of you who don't like it or have to drive long distances in it). Maybe the snow will make me smile. Meanwhile I was able to create a card with a cold Winter's day in mind:

This cute little girl is an image from Your Next Stamp called "Ellie Loves Hot Cocoa". I paper pieced her sweater in the same patterned paper I used on the card. The rest is coloured with my Copic markers as well as a few red stickles to add some bling. Kraft card stock is Recollections; turquoise card stock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is from DCWV Tis the Season stack from last year. Edges were inked with creamy brown chalk ink. The sentiment comes with the stamp. Heart button and twine from my "inventory" (still trying to find creative words). The small red hearts are added with my Irock.

Paper Playtime ~ Cricut Creations ~ Challenge #62

Good Morning y'all!!! Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend (well as much as you can in this busy season). I actually had a very relaxing weekend doing a few errands, watching Christmas movies and playing in my craft room.

Today is a new challenge over at Paper Playtime. It is a Cricut Creations challenge ~ to use a Cricut cut and buttons on your project. Come check out all the inspiration from the design team members. This is my take on it:

All card stock is Recollections. The patterned paper is from last year's DCWV Christmas stack. The gingerbread man is from "Jolly Holidays" Cricut cartridge cut at 3 1/2". He sits on a mat from "Elegant Edges" Cricut cartridge cut 3", 3 1/4" and 3 1/2". His face is stamped from Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment. Sentiment is from JustWordz Christmas Season set. Stickles, buttons, ribbon and twine are all from my collection.....another word for stash.....just sounds so much classier.

Here We Come A Caroling Blog Hop

The song that inspired my card today is "Away in a Manger", a song I learned as a young child in Sunday School and which is still one of my very favourite Christmas carols. It was first published in 1885 in Philadelphia edited by James R. Murray set to a tune called "St. Kilda" Listen to the words of the song while the children sing it

The stamp sets I used were "O Holy Night Nativity Set" and "Nativity Sentiments Set" all by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The image is stamped with Momento black ink and coloured with my Copics. All card stock is Bazzill and the brown patterned paper is a scrap from Creative Memories. Button and twine from my stash.

Winter Wonderland - JustWordz DT Day

Hello all!! Happy Friday. Welcome to the JustWordz design team post. I must admit that it is getting easier each week to find words and phrases to put on to cards....the possibilities are endless and I keep wanting to create more and more with these stamps :)

Today's card is a super easy one. Card stock is Recollections. Patterned paper is Deena's Penny Lane stack. Image is owned by my BFF and I forgot to get the manufacturer when I stamped it. She is coloured with my Copic markers. An EK Success punch was used for the base of the sentiment and ribbon threaded through to give it some dimension. Winter Wonderland is from JustWordz "Christmas Time" stamp set. Three tiny pink jewels added with my iRock complete this simple card. Fast, easy and cute....all rolled into one.

TSQ Royal Digi Challenge #3

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend and for those of you who had a long weekend I hope you had a great time with family and friends (and maybe a little bit of shopping in there as well).

Today is the last Monday of the month and that means a new challenge at The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge. Our theme for November is Christmas/Winter Wonderland. I coloured up two images from Di's Digi Downloads and made these adorable Christmas cards. Please check out her site for your daily quota of cuteness.

CARD #1

Image is coloured with my Copic markers and although it is not visible from the picture I added stickles for frost and glossy accents to the window. The sentiment stamp is by Mary Englebreit from the $1.50 bin. All card stock is Recollections and the patterned paper is from The Christmas stack (last year) by DCWV. Bling is Recollections.

CARD #2

Image is again coloured with my Copic markers. The fur has added texture from white flocking powder and stickles are added to the snowflakes falling. Sentiment is from The Greeting Farm "Forest Friends". As before, all card stock is Recollections and patterned paper is from the DCWV stack. Ribbon is from my stash.

Hello my crafting buddies.....and other readers of my blog :)! Today is Friday (again) and another day for JustWordz design team. If you read the title of this post, you know it is not me, that's for sure. I LOVE everything Christmas. But when I first saw my set of "Christmas Season" stamps I was on a mission to find the perfect image to go with a phrase I knew I had to use on a card for someone in my life who probably dislikes Christmas as much as I like it......okay, that's a mouthful....but it will make sense when I reveal my card.

Paper Playtime Challenge #61 - Say it With Sentiments Blog Hop

Good Morning, my friends! I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and that you are looking forward to an awesome week ahead. I am sure it will be a busy one for most of us.....

So today we are changing things up a bit at Paper Playtime and having a design team blog hop. So if you have come from Lynn's blog you are on the right track. If you have just come across my blog today, you may want to head back to Paper Playtime and start at the beginning. Our guest designer today and also our amazing sponsor for this next challenge is Libby with PSA Essentials.

I used the stamper, Holiday red ink, and the Whimsy Trees Peel & Stick stamps. I coloured the tree with my Copic markers and added a bit of glaze pen here and there for a bit of shine on the ornaments which is pretty hard to see from this picture. All card stock and printed paper is from Recollections. The circles are punched at 2 and 2 1/4". The scalloped circle is from Accent Essentials cut at 2 3/4"/ The ornament punch is a Martha Stewart border punch. I really like the traditional colours on this card.

JustWordz DT Day ~ Using a Redonkulous Design Digi

Good Friday morning, my friends. It's been a busy week and they will only get busier from now until after the holidays. I hope everyone is taking a few minutes for themselves and doing things that make them happy. Today is design team day at JustWordz and it is always an anything goes as the design team members have different stamp sets. But it is also another day to use Redonkulous Designs digis. Many of you have seen this cute little guy but this is my take on him:

Elephant was coloured with my Copic markers. All the paper and the ribbon were from my stash. I cut the circles and the scalloped circle from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge. The yellow card stock was run through the tiny bubbles embossing folder on the Cuttlebug. The "Love & Kisses" is from JustWords stamp set. I only have the Christmas season set so I definitely had to stretch to come up with something for this card but this just goes to show how versatile the stamp sets can be.....and thanks to my friend, Tara, for helping me brainstorm this! Don't forget that all who comment on the creations by the design team will be entered to win a set of JustWordz stamps. Welcome CHRISTMAS ~ JustWordz DT Day!

Good morning, and welcome to Friday! I know that is a good day for some of you as it means two days off and time to spend with family and play in your craft area. I work retail, no real weekends for me, but that being said, I do have tomorrow off and have plans with family. Yeah!!!

Today is an anything goes day at JustWordz and I have a (HUMMMM.....can ya guess?) Christmas card to share. There have been many versions of the door/wreath card but this is my take on it. I have Fall/Thanksgiving cards to show you today. From now until December 25th, MOST, if not ALL of what I feature here will be Christmas for two reasons: 1) Thanksgiving is long over here in Canada and 2) Christmas is my MOSTEST FAVOURITE time of the year!!!!!!!! But I did make a couple of Thanksgiving cards with digital images from Meljen's Designs that I am sending to a couple of my crafting friends south of the border and just wanted to share them too:

Today we have a brand new challenge at Paper Playtime with the Cricut Challenge team - "Thank You" projects. Does anyone else besides me remember having to write thank you notes for Christmas presents you received as a child from family and friends? I know my Mom would buy us cute note cards to fill out and send while we were on our Christmas break from school. That is the inspiration for my project today ~ a set of 3" x 3" note card, envelopes and a little box to store them all in. It would make a great gift for someone who still writes those thank you's.....

Hugs for Santa - Justwordz New Release Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the Justwordz New Release blog hop. If you are coming from Kristin's blog you are in the right place. If you have just joined me today, you will want to go to Kimberly's blog "Justwordz" and start from the beginning of our hop. This hop is to showcase the two new sets of stamps that have just been released, Party Time and Christmas Season. Kimberly's stamps are truly unique as they are all just words that you can put together in any combination. I must admit that I have literally stared at mine and it is going to take some getting used to putting my own phrases together. We are also showcasing a brand new line of digi stamps and digi scrapbook paper by Sheryl Brown, who just happens to be Kimberly's niece. Visit her store, Redonkulous Designs, to see her new images. This is a tag using "Hugs for Santa" digi and Christmas Season stamp set. I coloured the digi with my Copic markers and added diamond stickles to all of the fur. The tag is cut from "Very Merry Tags" Cricut cartridge at 4" and the snow flake is from "Accent Essentials" cut at 3". Okay, so I chose the easy way out with the stamps today and just used one word but there really wasn't a lot of room on the front of the tag :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #59 ~ A "BONUS" Monday

Good afternoon and welcome back to my second post of the day. Because it is the fifth Monday of the month we have a bonus challenge at Paper Playtime for one week only instead of two. The theme is "Anything Goes" ~ post any craft project, past or present. Prize donated by our sponsor, Cropstop, is a $15.00 gift certificate.

I decided I would show you all something that is not paper related today. Even though paper crafting seems to be my most prevalent hobby, I do enjoy a number of other "crafty" avenues. I learned to sew, knit and crochet from my Grandma at a very young age and still find knitting and crocheting to be most relaxing while I am watching mindless television.

These dishcloths were crocheted and the details were hand stitched to make them resemble a pair of jeans. They are a housewarming gift to my son and daughter-in-law and I had to use the lime green as it is my son's favourite colour. The orange was the original colouring from the pattern.

The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge #2

Good Monday morning. Oh.....and Happy Halloween. I hope everyone has a fun & safe day.

Today is the last Monday of the month and time for the digi challenge at The Scrapbooking Queen. The theme is Fall images. I have two cards to showcase both made from images by Di's Digi Downloads.

This cute little scarecrow is standing on a tall card (4 1/4" X 8"). He is coloured with my Copic markers. All card stock is Recollections. Other supplies from my stash. Sentiment is computer generated.

And this little bear is on a standard A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). He is again coloured with my Copic markers. Glossy accents is added to the umbrella to make it shiny. Stamp is from My Pink Stamper and leaves are from my stash.

Good Morning, my friends! I have some news to share with you today that I have been bursting at the seams to tell but had to wait for the official announcement. Today it is my turn and go to Kimberly's blog "Justwordz" to see it. While you are there, check out her fantastic line of stamps that can be mixed and matched.

Sooooo.......drum roll, please.......For the next term I am a member of the "Justwordz" design team. Thank you, Kim, for your kind words about my crafting. I am truly looking forward to getting to know Kim, along with my other design team members and using her stamps in my projects. Keep checking in as the project debut date is going to be soon.

One More Halloween......

and that will be all I am sure. We can move on to Christmas (for the most part that will be what I will be showcasing the next two months). I LOVE Christmas and can hardly wait to show you what I worked on this weekend. But on to this evening's card:

This cute little pumpkin is a Your Next Stamp digi stamp coloured with my Copic markers. All card stock is from Recollections. Green layer has been run through the Stars Cuttlebug embossing folder. Labels Eight Spellbinders Nestabilities have been used to cut out the pumpkin and the orange layer. Ribbon and bling from my stash.

Simple......

Good Friday morning! Are we all looking forward to the upcoming weekend? Not sure of my plans but I do hope they include some crafting time somewhere along the line. Time for me makes me a much happier girl.

Today's card is, well, simple......no Cricut, no stamped coloured image, not my usual style. But I adore how it turned out.

All card stock is Recollections. Recollections, which by the way, is Michaels own brand, is mostly the only card stock that I use. I am sure there are other brands still in my stash but it is definitely my "Go To" card stock as I find the quality to be good and there is such a variety of shades and colours. D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder is used for the white layer. The ovals are from Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacy Ovals and Classic Ovals Large. Sentiment is from the $1.50 Michaels bin. Flowers are Creative Memories. Ribbon is unknown :) Simple yet elegant.

Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall.....

Do any of you remember this song? It does apply to the card I have for you today. All the seasons are there and so is the word "Friend" even though the camera did not pick it up very well.

Each of these stamps is a mini from Your Next Stamp, coloured with my Copic markers and punched out in a 1" circle. Card stock is from Recollections. Patterned paper is DCWV Sweet Treats stack. Sentiment says "Hello Friend" and is from Michaels $1.50 bin. Punch is Apron Lace by EK Success. Top layer of kraft card stock has been run through the Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder. I made this especially to send to a friend but it did not turn out how I envisioned it at all. I do like it though.

Wedding Wishes!

Good Morning! I hope your Monday is going well and that you had a wonderful weekend. Last week I said I would share the things I made for my niece's wedding with you. First I just want to share a beautiful picture of my niece, her new husband (can not believe it has been over a week already) and their three gorgeous children. I wish them a blessed life together as they begin this journey.

I made table numbers, place cards and favours for her. The colours that she chose were orange and pink. All card stock used is orange and bright pink from Recollections and the patterned paper is an orange and pink swirl that I found at Michaels. And all other supplies were bought at Michaels as well ~ fall leaf and candy corn embellishments, ribbon and cello bags. Let me warn you, there are LOTS of pictures to follow in this post so it will be a long one.

First, here is everything I made all together before I packed it to send:

It was a reasonably small wedding so here are the four table numbers:

The circles/scalloped circles are from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge cut at 3 and 3 1/2". Numbers are from Lyrical Letters cut at 3 1/2".

The place cards:

These were 4" squares folded in half with the orange/pink swirl at 1 3/4" x 3 3/4". The names were computer generated on the bright pink card stock. A pop dotted Fall leaf gives it a little pizzazz.

There were going to be a few children there so they had their own special favours:

The scalloped circle was again from Accent Essentials cut at 2 1/2". The sentiment which reads "Thank you from Steve & Alisha Oct. 8, 2011" were computer generated and punched out with a 2" circle punch. Candy corn bling and the ribbon which says "Happily Ever After" complete the look. Although you can not see it in the picture the actual lollipop is shaped and coloured like a piece of candy corn as well.

And onto the other favours:

The popcorn box was cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More at 3 1/2" in bright pink. The same circles were used for the front of these as on the children's favours. Boxes were filled with white basket fill and then candy corn, placed in a small bag and tied with the same ribbon.

This is how they looked at the restuarant on the table along with another favour my niece had added:

Happy Birthday/Thanksgiving!

Good morning!!!! A short & sweet scheduled post for today as I am still away for the weekend. First, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of my Canadian friends & followers. I hope you are having a great holiday and eating lots and lots :)

Second, not only is our family celebrating my niece's wedding and Thanksgiving this weekend, but we also have birthdays to celebrate ~ both my Dad's (Oct 7th) and my hubby's (Oct 11th). This is the card I made for my Dad:

I stamped this image when I was playing at my BFF's house so I am not really sure who this adorable little bear is made by but if you want to know I am sure I can find out. I coloured him with my Copic markers. All card stock and embellishments came from my pile of "use it up"s so I again do not know the brands :)
Guess this is just a "mystery" card but hey, it works. And by now, I hope my Dad likes it.

Here Comes the Bride!!!

Happy Saturday, my friends!! As you read this, I am on my way to a very special wedding. My only niece is getting married and I could not be more happy for her. I made the table numbers, place cards and favours for her and will be sharing them some time next week with y'all but today I have a wedding card to share that I made for them.

I pulled out my Wedding Solutions Cricut cartridge for the wedding couple cut at 3 1/2" with the shadow. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Everyday Occasions" and is stamped in black and then heat embossed in clear to give it a little shine. The shaped punch is EK Success. All card stock is Recollections and the bright pink is run through the Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder. Tulle and bling are from Michaels.

Paper Playtime Challenge #57 ~ Cricut Creations ~ Use Black, Orange & Purple

Good Monday morning, my friends! Welcome to the new format of Paper Playtime, On the first Monday of the month we will have "Cricut Creations". This is the part of the design team that I am on. On the third Monday of the month we will have "Say it With Sentiments." On the Paper Playtime blog, there is a great introduction to all of the new formats and the design teams for both challenges. But that's not all.....there is a contest over there about matching the Halloween socks to the designer with a chance to win a pack of Cricut pens. So, take a look at the picture below and head on over HERE for your guess.

Now, on to the challenge......make a Cricut creation using black, orange and purple. The prize donated by The Scrapbooking Queen is a pack of Action Wobbles.

World Card Making Day (Canadian style!)

Welcome to the all Canadian World Card Making Day blog hop. If you have come from Graphicat Design's blog you are in the correct spot. If you just randomly came to visit me today, you may want to go to Nicole's blog to start at the beginning so that you don't miss out on any of the great projects that we have for you.

Today is World Card Making Day. Two years ago if you had told me this, I would have said....politely, of course......"And? What is that?" Now that I have been making and sharing cards for about a year and a half this is a day I can get passionate about. In fact, I probably will spend most of it in my craft room creating cards that are needed in the near future for some events coming up. You might even say that card making has become my number one paper crafting past time.

For today's hop, we were asked, if possible, to use a Canadian company on our project. I did not have to think twice about this one.....Your Next Stamp, a wonderful all Canadian stamp company have become my favourite images to use this past year. I also wanted to do a style of card I had not tried before so I began watching videos and tutorials for something new.

And here is the result:

It was a little tricky at first and I went through a few tries before I got it correct. If you want to try one, just search for centre step card videos and tutorials on You Tube. I watched a few and combined measurements and techniques. The stamp set used is Your Next Stamp's Fhiona Merry Kiss-mas. All card stock is from Recollections. Patterned paper is DCWV Christmas stack. The image is coloured with my Copic markers and placed on a Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey oval die cut. Ornament punch is from Martha Stewart. One Christmas card down....lots to go!!!

A Skating We Will Go!!!

Good Morning. I sure hope everyone has had a chance to read my TWO posts from yesterday and will take some time to visit my fellow design team members from both groups, leave them some love & participate in our challenges.

Today I have a card to share that has one of my favourite seasons on it. I like it when the weather gets cold and the snow falls and I can bundle up and just go outside and enjoy. Now I do know that not everyone likes Winter but that is what makes us all unique.

This card features "Ellie Loves to Skate" by Your Next Stamp in a monochromatic blue theme with a touch of snow white. Ellie's face, hair and leggings are coloured with Copic markers and the rest of her outfit and hair bows are paper pieced in the same paper as the card. Patterned paper, card stock, velvet twine and the button are from my stash. The skittles are some that I won from Your Next Stamp website and they are such a neat embellishment that I know I will be ordering more.

This card is being entered into the challenge at Your Next Stamp which was to use paper piecing somewhere on your card or project.

Good morning, my friends! Yes, it is Monday again and this is the last Monday for the original format of the Paper Playtime challenges. I just want to say that it was an honour & a privilege to work with such a great group of ladies on this design team. Today, we were asked to make a Halloween project. Truthfully, I am not a big fan of Halloween but did make a "cute" project to share.

Good Food + Good Company = A GREAT TIME!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my friends!!! Can we just pretend today is Monday so I do not get any more inquires to see if I am okay. LOL!!! To explain, I have not updated my blog for over a week. And usually I add at least one project on Mondays so I received a couple of phone calls yesterday asking if I was okay because there was no new project on my blog. Well, to those who are wondering & even those who are not, I am fine....been busy working, teaching classes & working on things for upcoming design team posts and a wedding.

In my last post, I mentioned that I was having lunch with my high school friends. Some of these ladies I have not seen for over 20+ years but can I just say it was an AWESOME time. Friendships that stand that test of time pick up like it was yesterday. There were 9 of us and we sat in the restaurant for over 4 hours and chatted, ate good food & took pictures.

Here are all of us:

The reason we were actually getting together was that we all turned 50 this year. I made a little card for each lady and added a chocolate truffle to each place setting.

These are 3" x 3" cards. The stamp is from Your Next Stamp coloured with my Copic markers. I did a number of hair colours and tried to match them to each lady. The scalloped circle is from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge & the 50 is cut from Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

Paper Playtime #55 - An Easel Card

Good Monday morning, friends! Yep, it is Monday and that again means time for another challenge at Paper Playtime. Our assignment (hee hee.....thought I would use that word since most everyone is back to school now) was to make an easel card. I had made a couple in the past but watched a few Youtube videos and I must say I chose a simple one to make due to time restraints but some easel cards are complex and look amazing. The mailbox is from Jolly Hollidays Cricut cartridge cut at 4". I bought this after Christmas last year so this was the first time I had used it. Cardstock is Recollections and patterned paper is DCWV Tis The Season stack. The fancy squares are from Spellbinders Nestabilities Lattice Rectangles. All embellishements from my stash.

It Feels Like Forever....

Good morning, my friends! While it has not really been "forever" it feels like a long time since I have shared anything on my blog. I have spent a bit of time in my craft room but there has just generally been a lot going on in my life to keep me away from it and when I am in there I seem to be making samples for my classes. I am also working on a few things for another wedding which I can share shortly...

Today's card is a birthday card that I made for my nephew who just turned 14. I originally was just going to give him one from my stash of cards but then decided to get creative and make him one of his "own". :)

This stamp is from Your Next Stamp and is called "Birthday Bear Bash". It is coloured with my Copic markers and is one of the ones I won as blog candy. I encourage anyone to check out Karen's line of stamps and scrap booking supplies. They are great!!! Everything else was found in my scrap pile - still trying to use that stash.

Paper Playtime # 54 - Stamping Monday Challenge

Welcome to another great challenge at PAPER PLAYTIME! We are so glad you are joining us for our AUGUST STAMPING MONDAY CHALLENGE! Our theme for this challenge is VACATION.

How to play along: Make a project with the theme of VACATION using a Stamped or Digi Image/Sentiment. Easy Peasy! So for all you Cricut Lovers out there – you can still play along by adding a STAMPED sentiment. And for all you DIGI Lovers out there – use any Digi image or sentiment on your project.

You can enter as many times as you'd like as long as all your entries are NEW projects and NO backlinks to previous blog posts.

I really pushed the theme a bit because my card is not really a true vacation theme but sometimes you go on vacation first (or at least travel) before you go to a new house. Right, Janis?!? Our fearless leader at Paper Playtime has just travelled cross country back to Alaska to live again. I have been on the design team for about 9 months and I think Janis has moved at least 3 times all to different states. I couldn't do it because I don't do adventures very well but I wish her all the best as she seems to love it. Okay, with that said......

Here is my card.

It uses a stamp from Digital Delights by Louby Loo called "Mr. Gnome's House". And now you can see why I said I pushed the theme :) but this little mushroom was crying out to be used on a card for a new home. The stamp is coloured with my Copic markers. All card stock is Bassill. Printed paper is from The Green Stack by DCWV. The sentiment is printed from my computer.

Birthday Boy (or Man too I Guess)

Good afternoon, my friends. I have some sad news to share today. I don't always share lots personal on my blog but it is weighing heavy on my heart and I ask for your prayers and thoughts. My brother-in-law, my husband's older brother, passed away early this week. He was 54, had led a rough life and has been estranged from all the family for a number of years. It's sad he died alone. So, please remember that life is short. Tell someone you love them or make that phone call today. You just never know!

Okay, moving on....I have a masculine card for you today. I think this is one of my fave masculine cards I have made. I think it is the colour combination that I like so much.

All paper was from my scrap pile. The stamp is "Special Autumn" from The Greeting Farm coloured with my Copic markers. Embellishments and the clear stamp were from my stash.

I am entering this card into the Birthday Sundaes challenge where we had to use 3 or more brads on a card.

Paper Playtime #53 - Whimsie Doodles

Good Monday morning! It seems like Monday rolls around more quickly each week. Today begins what I am going to call our "bonus" Monday at Paper Playtime as there are 5 Mondays in August. Stay tuned in two weeks for "Digi Monday" which is always a favourite. But today our sponsor is Whimsie Doodles and our design team of volunteers has created some amazing projects for you. I used a set of images from Whimsie Doodle called "School Goodies" inking each one up with my Copic markers. They are such cute images. I used them to make a very simple set of 3" x 3" notecards to be used for a teacher to give notes to her students.

Three Finished Cards

Happy Friday y'all!!! I hope everyone is planning something special this weekend as the Summer months are flying by. I will have some free time this weekend but not sure what I am up to yet.

Do you remember about a month ago I spent some time at my BFF's house and started some cards. Well, I finished them up this week and have them to share today. Birthday Borders!!

Good Morning, my friends! I have been finishing cards like a mad woman this week. You know, just those few details that they need in order to be finished and ready to sell....like something on the inside & my name stamped on the back. So, I have a question for ya....how do you sell your cards? I make them and then they sit. What is a good market to get into for selling them? I'm not looking to make it my career but just to cover some spending money on my crafting addiction....er.....hobby. LOL!!!!

Paper Playtime # 52 - "Cool Off with Water"

Good morning, my friends! And how is everyone today? Is it still hot where you are? Today is Monday and that means another challenge at Paper Playtime. For the next week, our theme is "Cool off with Water". When I hear that phrase, a number of things come to mind - swimming, running through the sprinkler, beaches and boating. So even though I had a number of thoughts about what I wanted to do, I had a hard time coming up with an actual idea on what to make. I began to look at my Cricut cartridges and decided to use one that has only been used ONCE (and it was a MUST HAVE at one point). Here is my card for this week's challenge:

I used Dude Cricut cartridge for the surfer cut. It took me a while to figure out all of the layers and I ended up trimming some of them off so that his hair wouldn't be blue or pattened :) All of the paper and the star brads are from my stash. Perfect guy card, no fuss, ribbons or bling.....oh, and no pink :)

Cake and Birthdays, A Winning Combination

Good Friday morning, peeps! What's everyone up to this weekend? Me, I have to work both days so it won't be a fun one this time around. Hoping to get a bit of time in my pink castle.

Here is today's card:

The stamp is "Birthday Anya" by The Greeting Farm coloured with my Copic markers with added touches of Glossy Accents and Liquid Applique in white. The matching paper is also by The Greeting Farm that I found at a LSS and have been itching to use. Stamp is from Ditto. I love how she turned out. So cute!!!

This card is for the challenge at Birthday Sundaes which is to use either cake or cupcakes on a birthday card. I finally had my excuse to use this!

Good morning, my friends. Did you like my cheesy Elvis impersonation? LOL! And I bet you can guess what kind of a card is coming. That's correct, it is a berry card. I spent some much needed time in my craft room last night and made a couple of cards for challenges. One I will share now and one will be up tomorrow.

I used Paisley Cricut cartridge for the berry on page 72. The berries are on a background from Accent Essentials. Sentiment is computer generated. All paper is from my stash. When I was done it looked like it was missing something so I began to doodle with my white gel pen and it ended up with lots of doodling to give it that finished look.

3...2....1......Teeny Tiny Just Because

Good afternoon, my crafting friends. I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying their summer. Truthfully, things in my life aren't all that great right now and so finding time to craft and enjoy it is a big stretch. But I needed something small to send out with some blog candy and nothing in my stock of cards fit the bill so I forced myself to create something new to share. I am also entering these cards at Your Next Stamp's 3...2...1 challenge. The challenge was to use 3 embellishments, 2 patterned papers and one image.

The image used is mini Shopper Fhiona which was coloured with my Copic markers and just waiting to be put on a card or project. Everything else was supplies from my craft room stash. The cards measure 3" x 3" and are perfect for placing in my packages which will be shipped out tomorrow when I actually go to the post office.

Paper Playtime Challenge #51 - Digi Monday/Summer

Good morning and happy Monday! My, how this summer is flying by. It is the last Monday of the month of July and that means digi Monday over at Paper Playtime. Our digi projects are to have a summer theme. I made two totally different things using the stamps from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

First we have a scrapbook layout using "Bucket & Spade Peyton". The image is coloured with my Copic markers. The title is cut from "Life's A Beach" Cricut cartridge. All other supplies are just what I had in my stash. (BTW, the pile is STILL not getting any smaller....)

Second, we have a card that could be used for any summer occasion using "Laid Back Lucy". She is again coloured with my Copic markers. Border punch is EK Success Apron Lace. Lucy is perched on a Spellbinder Nestabilities large ovals. Stamp is from "My Pink Stamper" Simply Sweet Occasions. And, yet again (tired of me saying this Hee!hee!), all other supplies are from my stash.

For my actual birthday my hubby surprised me by taking me out for supper at one of my fave restaurants and having a few people who are special to me there. I did not have my camera but my BFF did and this is one of the pictures she took of me with my birthday dessert:

It was an absolutely fantastic day and the best way I could have spent my 50th birthday, with family & friends. My son and daughter-in-law live out of town and I will be seeing them this weekend for my birthday.

My mini vacation was also a blast. I spent time relaxing, eating, shopping and going to craft stores(such a hardship for me) with my BFF. We did have some time for crafting and I have a few cards that need finishing touches and I can share them with you.

Yet Another Birthday Card.......

Good morning, my friends. Are you tired of birthday cards from me yet? I need a change of pace for a bit and can happily announce I have NO birthday cards that I need to make for the month of August. Any suggestions on the kind of cards you want to see me make? I could also catch up on the piles and piles of pictures I have to scrapbook but I usually don't share a lot of them here as they are more personal than my cards.

I am still on my mini vacation and I hope I am enjoying myself. Truthfully, I am sure I am and will let you in on the details, etc. in a few days. Here is the card I have for you today. It was made for a co-worker who we teasingly call Princess. She had the name before me but now we have to share it at work :)

I forgot to photograph the inside but that is where the sentiment was and it said in big letters "HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!" Card stock is Recollections, designer patterned paper is DCWV and Greeting Farm. Stamp is mini Princess Tilda coloured with Copics. I used Spellbinders Nestabilites for the first time on this card. They belong to my BFF - I am so glad she is a crafter as well so we can share things. But I did end up buying a set of them for myself in a different shape so we can share :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!! :)

Good morning everyone! Well today is a special day for me as it is my 50th birthday. I can not believe that I am half a century old. Hee hee!!! As most of you read this I will be at work as I work a full day today and then I am actually away until either Saturday or Sunday with limited Internet access. I am really looking forward to my "mini" vacation with my BFF and I do hope we will have some time to craft.

I told you I had so many birthday cards to make for July for both family, friends and co-workers. I have all but one finished and addressed. Today, on my birthday, I am going to share with you my favourite of all I made. I kinda wish I had kept it for myself. Can we give ourselves a card...hummmm??? :)

This stamp belongs to my BFF and comes from The Greeting Farm. She reminds me of an 80ies girl from Flashdance. She is coloured with my Copic markers. The stamp is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. I use these a lot - inexpensive but I find they are good quality and stamp well. The shaped card and frame are from Wild Card cartridge. Ribbon, flowers and gems are again from my stash.

I have a small giveaway for my birthday for one of my friends here. Just leave a comment under this post and when I return I will pick a name. Just my way of letting you know how much I appreciate all of my readers.

Christmas In July

Good morning, my friends! Is it hot where you live? It has been so very hot these last few days and unfortunately, I am not a big fan of heat and humidity. I am one of those strange people that would rather it be cold and snowy. LOL! So I decided that I would try to cool off by pretending it is Winter and making something for Christmas. It never hurts to start early. I already have a few things in my gift closet for Christmas presents. Please don't hate me all you last minute shoppers. I just like being organized.

Here is the card I made for today:

I used Create A Critter for the penguin at 2 1/4". Stamp is from $1.50 bin at Michaels. Martha Stewart ornament punch. Everything else is from my immense stash which does not seem to be going down despite how much I use it.

Paper Playtime Challenge #50 - Summer!!!!

Hello, my friends! It's Monday and time again for another Paper Playtime challenge. This week our theme is Summer which can be interpreted any way that you want. Our sponsor this week is Simply Pam and the prizes are: Making Memories - Whimsy Embellishment Kit and Making Memories Hul-la-ba-loo 5"x7" Mini Book Kit. Summer to me always means lots of sunshine and treats. This is what I made:

It is a tall gate fold card. The base is card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 9" scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" leaving a card of 4 1/4" with two opening flaps. The purple scalloped squares are from Mini Monograms cut at 2 1/2". The inside squares are 2" and 1 3/4" with rounded corners. Stamp is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. Sun and popsicle are cut from Doodlecharms at 1 1/2". A button with ribbon threaded through it and some stickles complete the card.

Pinkalicious Birthday Blog Hop

Good Saturday morning, my friends, and welcome to the Pinkalicious Birthday Blog Hop. For our project, we were asked to make anything pink and anyone of my regular followers knows that pink is my "go to" colour. I wanted to make something fancy and totally out of my comfort zone for a change. I think I accomplished my goal! Here is the front & inside of the card I made:

All the card stock is from Recollections. The shoe is cut from Wedding Solutions cartridge. The stamps are a combination of some clear stamps that I had in my stash, along with the bling. Oh, and the light pink was run through the Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder. Not my usual cutesy, whimsical style that's for sure but I really like it.

Finally......On A Roll!!!

Good Thursday morning, my friends. I am finally on a roll in my pink castle and yesterday I finished 3 cards and 2 scrapbook layouts. Watch me go! I need 2 more birthday cards by the end of the month and hope to finish up a few more layouts that I had the pictures printed for. Unfortunately, work is getting in the way today and so I don't think I will get any more done. Possibly this evening....

Today's card started out as a card to enter into a challenge but turned out so totally different with not one of the requirements for the challenge it was for. I love it anyways and it just gives me another excuse to make a different card. It's pretty simple but will be useful for all the July birthdays that I have.

I have used this stamp and sentiment before but they go so well together. Stamp is from Your Next Stamp minis coloured with my Copics and the sentiment is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. Card stock is Recollections and the patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane. Gems were set with my I-rock and although I am late to this party as it is new to me, I must say that I am really liking this fun tool. No chance of the gems coming off like the adhesive ones.

How Many Candles.....I Mean Birthdays?!?

Good Tuesday morning. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend as it was a long holiday weekend for both my Canadian and American friends. I spent Canada Day with some friends, had a barbecue and just played cards. There were no fireworks involved this year and I did miss them but I had fun.

I have been in a slump lately when it comes to crafting. I am not really sure what to blame it on except that I seem to be tired ALL the time and sleeping an awful lot. And that thing called work gets in the way of time to craft as well :) But I have a number of birthdays in July that I want to make cards for so last night I used one of my stash of coloured images and made a card. And while watching TV, I coloured 3 more images. Yay me!!! (At least it is a start!)

The image is from The Greeting Farm "Miss Anya Collection" coloured with my Copic markers. The sentiment stamp is My Pink Stamper "Everyday Occasions" set. Everything else is from my stash. Still trying to use what I have before I purchase anything else and so far so good.

I made the red leaf paper by stamping a leaf stamp in Versamark and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. Then I used the leaf to stamp randomly with red ink as well. Paper Playtime Challenge #49 - Digi Week

Welcome back, my friends and happy Monday. It's the last Monday of June (I can not believe how fast the summer is going) and that means time again for Digi Monday at Paper Playtime. This week our challenge is to use red, white and blue on a card. It doesn't have to be a patriotic card as our incredible design team ladies have made all kinds of cards with these colours. Please go check them out and leave some love. But......since red, white and blue does imply USA colours I asked our wonderful leader, Janis, if I could use red and white only which are the colours in the Canadian flag. I did not make a patriotic card either (because you need to come back and visit our Canada Day blog hop on Friday to see that!) but used red and white with a hint of brown.

The image used is Daisy by Digital Delights by Louby Lou. It took me a while to decide what image I wanted to use this month and my original idea was to sit little Daisy on top of a Canadian flag but loved her on this fence. She is coloured with my Copic markers and there are lots of stickles and bling added to her dress. All card stock is from Recollections. D'vine Swirls is used for the embossing. The fence is from Paper Doll Dress Up cut at 1 1/2" (on the last page of the book). The stamp is from "Just A Note" by My Creative Time. Oh, and I used my I-rock for the first time to add the bling to the fence and the flowers on her dress. Flowers are Prima and Recollections. Wow, I used lots of things to make this card, didn't I? :)

Anyone Need More Time in a Day?!?

Good afternoon, my friends! I need more time. Yes, more time, like more hours in a day. And I know that most of you would like that as well. I need to MAKE time to craft but when I do that I feel guilty for not doing the things I should be doing around the house. It is a syndrome I know we all, as women, face from time to time but time for ME makes ME a happier person to be around. I know the house will wait and I am the only one who can make the guilty feeling go away. I have a number of projects on the go that I want to finish before the end of this month, some I have to and others that can actually wait. Maybe tonight after work.....

Today is the birthday of one of our good friends and last night I realized I did not have a card for him (or any other "manly" cards) in my stash at all. So, I shamelessly cased an idea from my friend, Tara at Homemade Happiness that I had been wanting to try. Truthfully, not extremely happy with the result but I ran out of....you guessed it....time....before I actually had to sleep.

I used my new Sew Easy for the first time on this card. It made the stitching pretty fast but not as fast as I would have liked. Maybe it just takes more practice. All paper is from my scraps as that is the point of this project :) The stamp is from Delta Rubber Stampede and coloured with my Copics to match the card.

And yet again......more wedding things!

Good morning, my blogger friends. This has been a crazy busy week for me as I get ready for a garage sale that I am having at my parents on Saturday and a wedding celebration that is happening on Sunday. Along with working there hasn't been much time to do anything for me :) I do have some craft supplies in my garage sale but I think it would be way too far for most of you to come.

On to what I have been doing. As many of my great followers know, my son got married last month in a very intimate ceremony out of town. But they wanted a chance to celebrate with all of their extended family and friends so on Sunday we are gathering at a park pavilion for a picnic to do just that.

Here is the sign I made to put on the pavilion so people know they are in the right place:

And I wanted something little for all the guests to take home so I made 100 of these lollipops using Accent Essentials scalloped circle and punched out the sentiment printed from the computer. Each ribbon was tied and taped as they were falling off the stick. They look super simple but took me much longer than I thought. I do like the result though and am glad I went to all that work so that we have something to remember this day by.

Paper Playtime Challenge #48 - Z fold card

Good Morning, my friends, and welcome to another challenge over at Paper Playtime. This week our challenge is to make a z fold card. I have never made a z fold card and so I googled it and the results had lots of different instructions, pictures and videos for making these fun fold cards. I found one that was a variation of the usual so decided to try it. The video instructions are found here if you want to try one.

All supplies were using up my stash. The stamp was from My Next Stamp minis coloured with my Copics and then placed on a double scalloped circle cut from Accent Essentials.

Pink & Blue.....Not just for Babies!

Good Tuesday Morning, my friends! I can not believe a week has gone by since I last posted a project of any kind. My, how time flies. I had a wonderful busy weekend and besides work got to spend some time with my son and daughter-in-law, the first time since the wedding so that was nice!

But yesterday I hate to admit, I was bored. Not just the "I don't know what to do" kind of bored but the restless kind where nothing I did was what I wanted to be doing. I sat down at the computer and thought I would visit some of the blogs I needed to catch up on which led to other blogs.....which led to other blogs.....well, you get the picture. In my blog hopping and link connecting, I came across this site: The Deconstructed Sketch. Since I actually needed something to do I printed the sketch and went into my pink castle to play. "Make A Big Wish"

Good morning, my peeps! I hope you had a super day yesterday and are ready to tackle the world again today. I have not been feeling the greatest these days but put my down time to good use doing some knitting and crocheting and a bit of paper crafting. The humid weather is not helping these aching muscles and bones lately either.

Today the card I have to share with you is for a new to me challenge blog Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog. I discovered Your Next Stamp stamps at Scrapfest in Kitchener in April and bought my bride and groom for the favors I made along with 3 "mini" stamps. I love them and am looking forward to adding to my collection when my budget allows. The challenge was to use this sketch to create a card:

And here is my take on this sketch:

All stamp is from Your Next Stamp called Mini Cupcake Cute Fhionna. The background stamp is a Studio G cling stamp and all were coloured with my Copic markers. The sentiment is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. I used the Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder to add some dimension as well.

Digi Monday at Paper Playtime

Good Morning and Happy Monday, my friends! Wow, time flies. I can not believe it is already the last Monday of the month (and there were even 5 Mondays this month) and that means time for the Digi Challenge at Paper Playtime. The theme for this digi challenge is Love/Wedding, perfect timing for me as I have lots and lots of wedding projects to do.

I used Brady the Groom and Madison the Bride images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo for this layout. I coloured them with my Copics and placed them on pop dots for some added dimension. All card stock, patterned paper and embellishments for this layout were found in my stash. I have bought a few new things to do some layouts for the wedding album but this was put together before then. I will share more as I do them though, I promise.

"Pursenally" Speaking

Hello again today, my friends! Post number two for today. I think I have only posted twice in one day one other time since having my blog for a year and a half now. But I have been busy creating and am happy and excited to share.

Do you like the made up word in the title of this post? "Pursenally".....not really a word but fits the card I made so I just made it up. This card is for Challenge #9 at My Craft Spot where we were to create a shaped card. I do not do shaped cards very often so this really was a challenge for me and I guess that is the point, correct?

I designed this card on my Gypsy girl using the Forever Young Cricut cartridge. The black purse is the shadow layer flipped to be joined at the top. The blue is the regular purse and I hid the flower on the front with the hide contour feature. All of the card stock both plain and printed is from Recollections. I used my stash of ribbon, flowers, pearls and bling to make it pop. Sentiment is from the $1.50 bin at Michaels. I just may have to do more shaped cards. It was fun!

Feeling Groovy

Good Sunday Morning, crafting friends. This is post #1 of 2 today so that I will have both of my cards posted to be entered into their respective challenges on time. I sure do hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and hopefully spending time with those you love and doing something just for you.

Are you a retro girl? I am not really and don't long for any era to come back as I just enjoy living in the moment. But I went back to the 60ies for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge where the challenge was "Groovy Times". I do not have this cartridge but used Forever Young to give my card a retro feel.

All card stock and patterned card stock are from Recollections, Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, sentiments is a clear stamp from the $1.50 bin, ribbon and twine from my stash. And for my regular followers, there is NOT a stitch of pink in sight. LOL!!!!!!

Pearls and Lace

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you all are having a WONDERFUL weekend. Weather here has been so drab and rainy for so many days in a row that I thought I would just hibernate in my pink castle and do some challenge cards. I finished 5 cards and will be sharing them with you over the next few days (from now until Tuesday with a design post in between).

What is more feminine than pearls & lace? And since I am such a girly-girl this was the perfect challenge for me to participate in. The challenge was at the Birthday Sundaes blog to create a birthday card using pearls & lace. And, yep, you guessed it, I could not make this card without using some pink. :)

The card stock is from Recollections, patterned paper is by Basic Grey, stamp is from The Greeting Farm coloured with my Copics, sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions, pearls & lace are from Michaels. I made the lace flower by gathering the lace onto glue dots and adding it to a paper flower from Creative Memories. I am pleased with my super feminine birthday card and am waiting for the perfect person to give it to. Is it you? :)

Pretty as a Princess.....made for a Special Princess!!!!

Good afternoon, my friends. I thought I would mix it up a bit and post in the afternoon instead of the morning. Maybe my next post will be in the evening. Don't want to be predictable and boring :)

The card I am sharing with you today was made for my great niece B who just turned 4. She had a "Princess Party" so what was more appropriate than a princess digi coloured with my copics. I'm sorry I don't know who to give credit to as I forgot where this image came from. And of course, I got to use lots of pretty girly colours of pink and purple. So not the colours I use all the time. RIGHT???? (Have you checked out most of my cards!) I think I need to be challenged to use something OTHER than pink once in a while.

Paper Playtime "Bonus" Challenge

Good morning, my friends. Happy Monday. It is a holiday here in Canada so I am actually off work today and am either going to go visit relatives or spend some time in my pink castle. Just need to make a decision.

Since May had 5 Mondays our fearless leader "Mama Janis" at Paper Playtime asked her design team if they would like to participate in a bonus challenge. And, of course, I volunteered as it involved more time to play with paper. :) The challenge was to use a charm on your card. I am trying to be good and use up all the many things in my stash so I pulled out a couple of metal charms that I had sitting around for ages and here is what I came up with.

The punch was a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page and the sentiment is from the very first "My Pink Stamper" set Simply Sweet Occasions. Everything else was "found" in my scrap room :-D

All Things Wedding - Part Two

Good Thursday morning, my friends! Welcome to part two where today I will share some others pics, the card and the favors I made. I am excited to share these with you. And just as a reminder to any of you, if you would like me to make anything for a special event you have coming up just drop me an e-mail or comment here. I have so many more pictures but just thought I would share some of the highlights of the day with all my friends here. As I scrapbook them I may share more. Now on to the projects.

First, this is the card I made for them. I used the Wedding Solution and Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridges. In keeping with the lime green theme, I used that as the basis and found paper in my stash that matched. The car is on an action wobble and the whole thing turned out so cute!

The favors took me the most time. I used a bride and groom stamp from My Next Stamp and coloured 25 of them with my copic markers. Each one took about a half an hour to colour and cut out. The bride and groom were placed on a lime green heart cut out from the same Wedding Solutions cart as the invitations. From Bags, Tags, Boxes and More I cut out the popcorn box with printed black & white damask card stock. Inside each box I placed lime green basket shred and black, ivory (I could not find white) and lime green jelly beans. And, just to let you all in on a little secret of how much of a perfectionist I am, I used gloves and counted out the same amount of jelly beans in each colour for each favor. This caused quite a laugh at the reception. I placed them in a small gift basket bag and tied it with lime green ribbon that said "From The Mr. and Mrs." that I found on clearance at Michaels.

All Things Wedding - Part One

Good Wednesday morning, my friends! Today is part one of my wedding series of things that I made for my son's wedding. Today I will show you the invitations and place cards and tomorrow in part two, I will show you the favors and the card I made for them. And, just so you know who I made it all for I will share some wedding pics too. Just the way the sun was I ended up with a "halo" in my pics but have not figured out how to edit it out yet. I may just get the professional ones to scrapbook but will post the unedited version here, halos and all. And believe me, these boys are no angels. I've known them a while and can say that without offending them.....and I don't think they will visit here anyhow. ;)

The colours for the wedding were white, lime green and black so that was the colours I based the invitations and place cards on. I used Recollections card stock for everything as it had the best lime green colour. This was the invitation and reply card. (I covered the words with blank white card stock but you do get the idea!)

The heart was cut with the Wedding Solutions Cricut cartridge.

These were simple and fairly easy to make and just added those personal touches to the wedding.

I'm Back!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my blogger friends! Did you miss me?? LOL!!!! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I could not have asked for a better day. My one and only baby is married. Wow! Tomorrow and Thursday I will have a series called "All Things Wedding - Part 1 and 2" to share all that I made for the wedding and a few pictures.

Today I have a card to share that I made for my Mom for Mother's Day. I used a free image from Digital Delights by Louby Loo called "Time for Tea Boo Boo". I coloured it with my copics and just love the way it turned out. My Mom likes tea cups and gardening so I thought it would be perfect for her. Inside just said "Happy Mother's Day" but it could have been used for almost anything. All cardstock was Recollections from Michaels. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder for some dimension. Flower, button and floss were from my stash.

Paper Playtime Challenge # 45 - A Tall Card

Good Monday morning, my friends!!! By the time you are reading this, my son will be married (the wedding was yesterday) and I am celebrating with them still and sending them on their honeymoon after breakfast together today.

It is time for another challenge at Paper Playtime. This week's challenge is to make a tall card and use your Cricut for an added bonus. A tall card is a card made with a base of 8" x 8" scored at 4". It will fit into a legal size envelope. Below is my card:

All the paper used for this card was from my stash. I used the Paisley Cricut cartridge to cut out the paisley mofit at 3" including all of the layers. The sentiment is a stamp from My Creative Time's "Just A Little Note to Say". I used 2 EK Success border punches and my Creative Memories corner rounder. Ribbon, button and floss are again just from my stash.

You Are One of A Kind

Good Wednesday morning, my friends! I did not expect to be posting so soon after yesterday's post about not having my "creative mojo" but somehow I dug really deep and found it to make this card (and one other one to be posted probably tomorrow). Neither of these cards are the ones I actually need for the weekend but I am sure more ideas will flow now. Crossing my fingers!

This card is NOT my original idea. I have seen it done somewhere on a blog and am sorry to say that I do not remember where and so can not give credit where it is due. But I knew I had this punch and wanted to try my version of it. Butterfly classic punch is from Martha Stewart, sentiment is printed on the computer and all other supplies from my stash.

Vintage "So Long"

Good morning, my friends. Well, you know the old saying...."the best laid plans"....I haven't had much time or to be more truthful, motivation to be creative lately. Not sure why and I am hoping it will change soon but in the meantime, I probably won't have too much to share. Bear with me and I am sure there will be more entries to this blog when my "crafting mojo" comes back.

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for a friend at work who was leaving to go back to her old job. I wish her the best of luck on her new journey. She is all about vintage so I used the Sentimental Cricut cartridge and muted colours for her card. Personalized cards for the people they are for is something I like to do and is probably why I do not have a huge stash of cards and make them at the last minute :)

And I just wanted to share the absolutely beautiful tag/card she made for me. The lace she used on it was made by her grandmother. I will cherish this for a long time.

Digi Monday at Paper Playtime - Friend Theme

Good morning, my friends. I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. I had a wonderful time with family.

Today is digi Monday at Paper Playtime but with a twist this week. Your card or project is to have a friends theme.

I used the image called Billy and Rocket from Digital Delights by Louby Loo and coloured him with my copics. All card stock is from Recollections. I used the Traffic Jam and Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folders to give the background and the "moon" dimension. The stamp is from the "Just A Little Note to Say" set by My Creative Time. It would make a great card to send to a friend who is feeling a little down or even a child's birthday. I like the way it turned out.

Good morning, my friends. I am so sorry that I have not posted this sooner. My life has been taken over by bride and grooms :) I am making the favours for my son's wedding in two weeks and decided to colour a bride and groom stamp to go on each one at the last minute. So now all I seem to be doing is colouring them. Thank goodness it is a very small wedding!!! And, yes, I promise to share them with you as soon as the wedding is over.

I coloured the bunny this time using my Copic markers. All others supplies I found in my stash. The banner was cut freehand and adhered with pop dots to a piece of baker's twine.

The digi image was coloured with my watercolour pencils and I added stickles to the egg to give it a bit of bling. All card stock is Recollections and the patterned paper is Creative Memories. Ribbon and bling are from my stash picked up somewhere along the way and finally put to some use.

MIA, A Reminder and 4 Things

Good morning, my friends. I have been MIA for a bit but am fine and have just gotten busy. This past weekend I attended Scrapfest in Kitchener with my Mom and had a great time. We did not do the big crop but chose to scrapbook together at her place and I finished 4 double page layouts and a single page layout except for journalling and I hope to get to that today. Yeah me! Finally some neglected scrapbooking got done. I also took a photography workshop and have to spend some time absorbing what we learned and trying some of the techniques out.

A Day of "See Ya Later"s

Good evening, my friends. Just a quick post tonight before I go into the pink castle to organize pictures for my venture to Scrapfest next weekend. I am hoping to actually do some neglected scrapbooking and not just cards :)

These last couple of days have been a little melancholy at the place where I work. There has been some restructuring going on and we have lost a couple of wonderful women due to that. They will be missed. Here are the cards I made for each of them:

This card uses Forever Young for the flower cuts and Create A Critter for the butterflies. Simple with lots of room for writing. And I happen to know that this particular girl loves butterflies :)

This is a digi image from Di's Digi Designs coloured with the few copics I have so it is not that great but I am definitely still learning.

Both cards are so different and yet they represented the ladies I gave each one to perfectly :)
